Not posted on here in a looong time, intentions last year was to party, party, party and party hard! That New Years Resolution hit the wall big time. It was a hard and bad year last year, very stressful, had a couple of operations and dealt with bereavement.
This year I have started more on a positive note! Intentions to see my favourite rock band live as many times as possible! YAY
Started in the January 2 gigs, February a further 3 gigs I could have done more in the UK in February but didn't. I met up with some lovely friends I have known for years!!! It was absolutely fantastic to finally meet friends I have known but never seen. The friendship has grown and bonded more tightly than I could have imagined. Just a shame others were ignorant and wanted to either not be bothered to come along to meet up or just outrightly ignore. Nevermind their loss!
Went to see my favourite band a further 2 more times I saw them at the iTunes Festival!!! Fantastic and also the following weekend I travelled to the Sonisphere Festival!!! Amazing it really was.
I had a great time with friends and since meeting them in the February I promised I would do the ultimate!! Get on that plane over to America. We waited and waited hoping that our favourite band would announce a tour over there in the States I was aiming to work around touring with my friends following a great tour. The tourdates never came eventually the announcement was they were not doing the states. So I steam rolled ahead with my plans and booked my holiday over there.
Flying I absolutely hate flying I am terrified of it but you know what I did it. If you want to travel and see places you just have to grin and bare it for a few hours to get somewhere you always wanted to go and see.
What can I say it was great !!!! JFK Airport was huge, I was a little in awe, didn't known what to expect with passport control I have in the past heard its a nightmare. It was fine.
We went to the Empire State Building yes the one King Kong climbed LOL. Went on just about all the trains not the "J" train though LOL. Saw Macy's, tried the New York Pretzel. Times Square was just AMAZING!!!! We found a lovely Irish bar in Times Square. I want to go back to that bar LOVED it!!! BBKings woohooo. Its a must next time I go that I do a little shopping in the shop Sephora. Hit the underground of Penn Station, Grand Central (shame I didn't go up into the building) we were so rushed for time.
Went to Central Park it was wonderful absolutely a proper countryside park right bang in the centre of Manhattan. It was great to see all the people scurrying around going about their business seeing the street buskers. Everyone was polite and nice always great to see. We saw trump tower! The Chrysler Building amazing buildings they all are.
Only missed the ferry to Ellis Island and Liberty Island by five minutes. Oh well nevermind. I have my excuse to go back out there. Visit all what I missed first time round LOL
I will remember though when I am out there next time not to ask for Brandy & Lemonade but instead Coynac! As they bartender didn't know what the hell I was asking for LOL !!
I am so looking forward to going back out there to travel again xx
